...specifically the endocrine system.
Our hormones are linked to so much more than just a once of month management or prepubescent raging and desires. Our hormones are linked to the entire endocrine system which include the pineal gland, pituitary gland, pancreas, ovaries, testes, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, and adrenal glands.
In short, supporting our hormones involves so much more than a one stop shop.
What are adrenals?
These are small glands in your back, above your kidneys. Adrenal glands regulate blood sugar and blood pressure, produce progesterone, create cortisol produce the androgens DHEA and androstenedione, precursors to testosterone , produce ‘fight or flight’ hormone, and keep the body from inflammation. It is crucial to support our adrenals. With today’s busy lifestyles we may have a habit of neglecting the adrenal glands. Consequently the body responds by creating excessive fatigue or other hormone disruption that tends to be chalked up to life stages and simply what everyone goes through. What we know now is the adrenal glands require extra attention and if there has been illness or long periods of stress.
When you know and understand what the adrenal gland functions are, you are better equipped in knowing how to support them. It’s like running. You know your body is made for running right? But you need fuel or about a mile down the road you’ll run out of gas and hit the proverbial wall. Adrenals need fuel support too!
