Getting to the Root of High Blood Pressure

In our world today most people address the fruit of a problem. This is backwards. This is the first of ten articles written expressly for the purpose of helping us all address the root of a problem rather than bad aid the fruit. After all, we wouldn’t try to make a rotten apple good again. We would see what is happening at the root of the tree in order to next season, produce better fruit.

Today’s- Blood Pressure

A known risk factor causing high blood pressure (hypertension) is largely preventable in spite of affecting 1 in 3 Americans. Hypertension is big money because most people’s health is completely out of control. Those with high blood pressure intuitively know that a simple change in diet and adding solutions like essential oils into a daily regimen can dramatically alter the high blood pressure, reducing it significantly or irradicating it altogether.

This can happen within a few weeks and many are surprised to see how simple it is and how well their blood pressure normalizes. Not to mention, quite cost effective.

Using oils like Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Marjoram and Neroli has been shown to not only reduce high blood pressure but can also prevent further heart disease.

Found in this study.

Here is a summary of what was found:

  • Lavender – alleviate cardiac excitation, lowers BP, and is effective in hypertension and palpitations.

  • Ylang-ylang – lower BP, alleviates palpitations and nervous system excitation, and promotes emotional relaxation.

  • Marjoram – lower sympathetic nervous system activity and stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, resulting in vasodilatation to reduce cardiac strain and decrease BP.

  • Neroli – brings emotional soothing and comfort and is effective in cardiac palpitations secondary to shock or fear.

Looking at the last oil should give a clue into the next portion of our discussion. Using essential oils to lower blood is a stellar idea, yet unless we get to the root, the blood pressure could come back or cause other unsavory health conditions. With most conditions in the body negative emotions are simmering at the root. In the case of high blood pressure, the cause is on the surface obvious to those around the person, but to the person, it may not be so obvious. We all are prone to blind spots and while we think we have it all under control, the truth is, the body never lies and it always keeps score.

The most common negative emotions linked to high blood pressure are as follows:

  1. Feels a strong need to be in control of everything

  2. Allowing people or situations to bother you

  3. Letting your emotions and reactions rule you

  4. Not minding your own business/interfering with others

People with hypertension may seem like they have suppressed anger and again, while this appears to be the root, we must dig deeper and ask more pointed questions.

  1. What has caused the person to feel the need to control everything?

  2. What about other people is so bothersome, why does it need to affect how you feel, react or respond?

  3. If someone is interfering or not minding their business, this is a form of controlling others so the question comes back to why? Why is this a need for them? What do they hope to gain if and when they control someone?

You can see that only dealing with the blood pressure is just one portion, as is knowing that one may be controlling or a busybody. The question always comes back to, why and/or when did this begin to spring up.

Once you have the answers to these questions now you are able to be better equipped to choose to heal and move forward in this. Seeing the problem for it is can be one part. The next part is a releasing of the need to control or butt into other’s affairs by focusing on what it is that you do want to see.

If hypertension is your story currently, I would encourage you to take some time soon and ask these questions. See what springs to mind. Honestly, releasing the negative emotion is often times as simple as praying “God I cannot hold onto this emotion any longer. I choose to fix my eyes on You, I reach for You, knowing that as I do, the negative things I am clinging to will drop away.”

Once you speak that out, write a new affirmations that will help rewrite new neuro pathways in your brain so that if and when you are triggered into an old habit, you can verbally proclaim your new way of thinking and responding.
